Correcting a residential-care policy after issuance.
For a residential-care facility, Hedge gathered outstanding underwriting documents and then identified a mismatch between the issued policy description and the state license. The underwriter sent an endorsement, and the agent confirmed the correction looked right.

The account.
A retail agent submitted a North Carolina nonprofit providing non-medical residential care for adults. The liability placement required a completed supplemental and supporting facility documents, including the state-issued license.
The policy still needed a check.
Hedge followed up for the requested documents and sent the license to the underwriter. The underwriter confirmed that the outstanding contingencies were complete and noted that the business description needed to match the license.
When the issued policy arrived, the licensed-bed count was still incorrect. Hedge asked for an endorsement correcting the description. The underwriter acknowledged the error and sent the endorsement. Hedge forwarded the correction to the retail agent, who confirmed that it looked right.
What another retail agent can use.
Compare the issued declarations with the final underwriting documents, especially when a license changes the description or exposure basis. Keep the original policy, the requested correction and the resulting endorsement together. Receipt of a policy does not establish that every description on it is correct.
The confirmed result.
An issued general and professional liability policy, followed by an endorsement correction confirmed in the underwriter and agent correspondence. Both liability lines used claims-made-and-reported forms with retroactive dates at inception. This case does not establish coverage for earlier acts, every requested line or additional future locations.
