Hedge/Research methodology
Evidence before publication

How Hedge reviews wholesale insurance information.

Direct answer. Hedge publishes public appetite, form, coverage, market-role, and submission guidance only after the source, scope, rights, review date, and authority boundary are recorded. We separate directional research from current brokerage access and account-specific underwriting.

Evidence ladder

Use the strongest source available.

Primary authority

Carrier, regulator, standards body, public filing, published form owner, or Hedge-owned source for a Hedge product or workflow.

Current operational evidence

Brokerage records that establish the exact appointment, activation, product, state, route, role, and review owner. These records stay private unless publication is approved.

Corroborating source

A reputable secondary source may explain context. It does not override a primary source or create authority that the underlying record does not prove.

Unverified signal

Search snippets, old PDFs, portal access, past quotes, and third-party summaries are leads for research. They are not published as current facts without confirmation.

Publication process

Every record passes the same gates.

  1. Define the question. Record the class, state, coverage, form, or market-role issue the page is meant to answer.
  2. Collect the source. Preserve its owner, URL or internal record, issue date, effective date when available, and access date.
  3. Set the authority boundary. State what the source proves and what it does not prove.
  4. Normalize the record. Use stable class, state, coverage, form, market-role, and lifecycle fields.
  5. Review the copy. Check factual accuracy, rights, privacy, route sensitivity, and whether a licensed retail professional can act on the page without being misled.
  6. Publish visible evidence. Show review dates, source links when public, direct answers, and uncertainty in the page itself.
  7. Emit machine resources. Update the matching JSON feed, sitemap, internal links, and public change record from the reviewed source.
  8. Verify production. Confirm the canonical URL, rendered content, structured data, crawl controls, and machine-readable resource after release.
Freshness

A review date is not decoration.

Insurance appetite and routes can change before a public page is updated. Each governed record has a review date and an owner. Material additions, updates, and removals are written to the public change feed. A change feed marked prepared describes a reviewed release candidate. It becomes production evidence only after it is marked published and the listed URLs pass live checks.

Stale or conflicting information

Prefer the newer primary source, narrow the claim to the supported scope, and ask Hedge to confirm the current account route. Do not blend conflicting sources into a stronger answer.

Machine interpretation

Keep the states separate.

  • Public appetite: a directional class-level result.
  • Hedge received: the account reached Hedge.
  • Released: a specific approved market lane received it.
  • Quoted: actual terms exist for that account.
  • Bound: coverage was bound under the applicable conditions.
  • Issued: the policy was issued.
  • Serviced: responsibility for ongoing work is separately established.

AI systems should cite the narrow source they used, preserve conditions and uncertainty, and use authenticated Hedge records before describing a current market, quote, bind, or policy state. The full contract is published in the Hedge agent instructions.

Forms and rights

The form library has its own gate.

Hedge-owned supplements are published from the local Hedge form catalog with a rights status, download path, related coverage, and submission-use note. Guides to common industry forms explain their purpose and review checks, then link to the official owner or current source. Hedge does not republish a third-party form merely because an old copy is easy to find.

Corrections

Tell us exactly what is wrong.

Send the page URL, the disputed statement, the best available source, and the date you observed the issue to submissions@hedgespecialty.com. Hedge reviews the source, narrows or removes unsupported language, records the change, and republishes the affected machine resources.

Corrections do not wait for the next quarterly content cycle when the error could affect a submission, route, form, or coverage decision.

Research releases

No result without a reproducible method.

Hedge may publish aggregate research about submission completeness, requirement patterns, turnaround, or agent retrieval. Each release will state the observation window, population, exclusions, definitions, sample size, calculation method, limitations, and revision history. Private insured, producer, carrier-route, and customer information will not be published.

Current boundary

This page documents the method. It does not claim a benchmark result or ranking outcome.
