Everest Insurance

Use the current wholesale route, not an old retail appetite list.

Everest’s current insurance presentation emphasizes Global Wholesale and Specialty; its Evolution platform serves US wholesale partners. [1]

Hedge’s take

Everest is worth reviewing through its current wholesale and specialty proposition, particularly where the account needs Evolution primary or excess casualty. The important distinction is timing and route: older retail-market descriptions should not be carried forward after the announced retail renewal-rights transaction.

The detail that can change the fit

Confirm the current product and issuing company first. Evolution’s published minimums and underlying-insurance conditions can screen out an unsuitable submission before a broker spends time on a full placement.

Beyond the product list

What stands out, and why it matters.

The retail transition changes how to use historic material.

Everest’s October 2025 announcement described a retail renewal-rights transaction and a wholesale/specialty operating focus including Everest Evolution. [4] [6]

Treat older appetite guides as leads to check, not evidence of a current route. For an existing retail policy, establish the actual renewal carrier and process; for new wholesale business, use the current Evolution product information. Its third-quarter 2026 results now place the commercial retail business in the Legacy segment. Confirm each renewal’s actual insurer and process rather than assuming all accounts moved on one date.

Primary casualty has a defined size of request.

Evolution lists primary GL and commercial auto, with published minimum premiums of $25,000 for GL and $150,000 for auto. [2]

Those are useful screening parameters, not premium estimates. Explain the nonstandard operations and the need for a primary placement before choosing this route, including the relevant account or monoline structure.

Excess fit depends on the underlying program.

Evolution’s excess page lists a $1 million minimum underlying and an A-VII requirement for underlying coverage, with supported and unsupported options. [3]

Provide the real policies and attachment structure. Compare how the proposed excess handles exclusions, insured entities and claims triggers rather than assuming an additional limit simply follows every primary provision.

Published scope

The product facts behind the view.

  • Everest Evolution primary casualty lists general liability and commercial auto, with admitted and nonadmitted capabilities. [2]

  • In October 2025 Everest announced agreements to sell retail commercial renewal rights to AIG and refocus its insurance division on wholesale and specialty business. [4]
  • Everest’s third-quarter 2026 results report the commercial retail business in its Legacy segment, while its current public insurance pages emphasize Global Wholesale and Specialty. [6]
Pressure-test the proposal

Questions to resolve before binding.

Use these illustrative scenarios to review a proposal. They are questions to ask, not statements that a loss is covered.

An old Everest retail policy is approaching renewal

Which carrier and route apply to this renewal after the announced transaction, and is the same product still available?

A difficult auto account needs primary coverage

Does its size meet the published Evolution starting point, and what operations make it suitable for wholesale review?

A client seeks an unsupported excess layer

Do underlying insurers and limits meet the published conditions, and where does the proposed layer differ from them?

Put the account in motion

A better submission starts here.

Hedge’s preparation guidance for this placement:

  • Identify whether the account concerns an existing retail renewal or a current Everest Evolution wholesale product.
  • Provide operations, revenue, requested primary or excess structure, current underlying forms and significant losses.
  • For excess, document the underlying insurer, attachment, limits, deductibles and all material covered activities.

Include the named insured, locations, requested lines and limits, effective date, existing applications and available loss information. Start with what you have; we can identify what is missing.

Before you choose

The practical questions.

How do I get a quote with Everest Insurance?

Choose “Get a quote with Everest Insurance” and tell us about your client. Hedge carries your market selection into the submission, helps complete the account and works on the available terms. You can review the proposal before making a coverage decision.

Does this profile confirm my account is eligible?

The published specialties are a starting point. State, business activity, loss history, requested coverage, limits and effective date can change eligibility. The sources used here do not provide a complete state-by-product matrix. The actual proposal and policy forms determine coverage.
